Happenings...

Hi all! I just thought I would share about some happenings around the house! Julie (7) lost her second front tooth yesterday! She looks sooo cute!  Honor is turning 18 on Friday (and will be getting her drivers license!) Nancy is having her 9th birthday party on Saturday and Joann is starting her job teaching piano! Over the summer, Peter graduated from highschool! I started my 13th year homeschooling around labor day. We are also having a New Years concert on Tuesday, December 31st from 5:30-8 pm and a Christmas concert on Wednesday, December 4th from 6-9 pm. It will be at our house on our side building that is attached to the house with a court yard and chairs (I attached a picture). All the kids, me and John are either singing or playing an instrument! We will have snacks! We hope you can come!

Trip To California

All of the children and I (Janet) went on a week long stay-cation to California from Sep. 9-16. We used this as a homeschool educational trip (read about why we chose homeschooling here ) and visited locations such as the Water Conservation Garden, Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum, San Diego Chinese Historical Museum, the San Diego Air and Space Museum and of course the BEACH! We had a wonderful time and just got back a week ago! It was such a fun AND educational experience and we truly believe this is the heart of our homeschool!

Why We Chose Homeschooling

First off, my husband and I didn't want the negative and secular influences of public school and didn't want the government controlling what we teach and how we teach it. We wanted our children to have a hands-on approach, and to follow Jesus. So, we chose to homeschool!
